terms<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Adjustment means eliminating deviations of the display of a measuring device from the reference value.\u00a0According to the 2012 German edition of the International Dictionary of Metrology, calibration is defined as &#8220;a set of activities that are performed on a measuring system so that it provides specified indications that correspond to values \u200b\u200bof a quantity to be measured.\u00a0Justification of a measurement system should not be confused with calibration, which is a prerequisite for justification.\u00a0After adjusting a measurement system, the measurement system usually has to be recalibrated.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4><strong>What is adjustment?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>In the case of spark spectrometers, adjustment means that, based on measurements on several certified reference samples, the individual methods are set in such a way that the measured values \u200b\u200bmatch the reference values \u200b\u200bas exactly as
